The course provides PhD students and young researchers with the opportunity to deepen their understanding of religious and non-religious narratives on migration and discuss them from an international and interdisciplinary perspective. It gives an overview of theoretical, methodological, and practical issues in the research of these narratives in Jewish, Christian, and Islamic theology, religious studies and social science, literature studies etc. It also discusses non-religious narratives and their relation to religious narratives. The course also aims at discussing and identifying the impact on and contribution of religious and non-religious narratives to contemporary challenges in the migration field.
